AI/ML Engineer
- Hybrid
- Hoofddorp
Job description
Great work is business as usual here
Do you see working on the best insurtech software in the Netherlands as the most natural thing in the world? Good, so do we.
As an AI/ML Engineer at Inpact, you'll join a dedicated AI feature team working on Inpact.AI: a platform that helps insurance professionals quickly and intelligently process large volumes of unstructured data. Think policies, claims, emails, reports, PDFs, and images. Together with your colleagues, you’ll design, build, and implement AI solutions using NLP, ML, LLMs, and RAG technologies. The models you develop go straight into production, your work makes a direct impact.
You’ll not only build smart AI modules but also help create solutions that solve customer problems and support our internal development teams. AI isn’t just a technology to us; it’s our mindset. Everything we do, we do with AI; from capturing and analyzing customer conversations to generating working code. Your work helps modernize 30 years of legacy software and contributes to the foundation of our new AI-driven SaaS platform.
Specifically, you’ll fine-tune Large Language Models (like GPT or open-source variants), develop reusable AI modules, and continuously improve model performance and scalability. You’ll use frameworks like PyTorch, Sklearn, and Hugging Face, and work on data pipelines, feature stores, and monitoring processes. All of this in a multidisciplinary team of developers, consultants, and data engineers.
A normal day at Inpact
At Inpact, we help insurers innovate so they can focus on what really matters. As an AI/ML Engineer, you help shape the future of insurance. No fluff, just results.
Yes, we’re ambitious. But there’s no overworking or title games here. Big egos stay outside, big plans are welcomed with open arms. That’s why we hire based on ambition, not just experience. Our team is a tight-knit group of 100 down-to-earth colleagues with a passion for tech, AI, and data science. No hassle, no drama, just good work on real AI products that actually go live. We invest heavily in onboarding with AI knowledge, offer an AI Academy for growth, and train engineers in a setting where AI is the standard.

How you'll help shape the future of insurance

Have a relevant master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Mathematics, or Econometrics.
Have at least 2 years of experience working with ML/AI in a professional setting.
Have hands-on experience with frameworks like PyTorch, Sklearn, and Hugging Face.
Are familiar with developing LLM models (fine-tuning, prompt engineering, RAG).
Are skilled in Python, Git, and working with large-scale datasets.
Bonus: experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Are comfortable working with data engineering pipelines and monitoring setups.
Are proactive, curious, and analytical.
Enjoy collaborating and can explain complex topics clearly.
We think this is just normal
Growing from 10 to 100 customers in a year? Doesn’t surprise us. A junior leading their own team in no time? That’s totally normal. And the coffee? Just a regular cup — unless you prefer something else. Here’s what else we consider normal:
A solid salary, based on your experience.
Coached by some of the best AI leaders in the world.
A personal budget to keep developing yourself.
A good pension plan, your future’s taken care of.
New gear: Microsoft Surface laptop, Sony headset, and plenty of AI tools.
Work from home with a €2.35 per day tax-free allowance.
25 days of paid leave based on a 40-hour workweek.
Loads of growth opportunities, no office politics.
Home in time for dinner.
A role you can shape around your own ambitions.
Free parking right at the door.
